Mixed Media Abstract

I am currently excited about working on wood panels. The process involves layering papers, paint, marking with pastels, graphite, and image transfers. I love to work on several pieces at a time. This allows me to sand back with my orbital sander to reveal layers, as if I am excavating a historical site, discovering textures, marks and colors that came before. Now, a fresh layer of paint and marks are applied using my intuition and knowledge to establish a strong composition with a spacious feeling.
